Tír Na Nóg Cattery was set up in 2004 by Suzanne Laing and in 2017 continues as a family business by Joan Lovitt.
Joan has had cats most of her life. She had her first cat ‘Tibby’ at the age of five. Over the years, she has cared for cats with a magnitude of personalities from Jess who was a constant companion for her then two year old daughter June to Chip, a feisty feral cat who has required many years of love and patience to calm her into a family pet. The most recent additions include ‘Felix’ a feral cat who had four kittens outside the back door. The whole family were subsequently were brought indoors at 2 days old and have been part of the family ever since.
The Lovitt family currently have seven rescue cats and until recently they also had ‘Fluff’ who reached the ripe old age of twenty.

From kittens to very elderly cats and everything in between, the Lovitt family have a vast amount of experience between them. They have also been involved in rehabilitating and neutering stray feral cats in conjunction with nearby animal rescue centres.
